Fresh air and fresh eyes!

It has been a while since I have posted to our blog. I can only say, weeks pass so quickly, even when you are living in a slower culture! There has been a lot of small, detail work that has been going in the start of year 2022. Most of it having to do with editing and prepping our Discipling Marketplace Leaders materials. We had workshops planned with a small church denomination for the beginning of March, but there were troubles confirming the day for our two day foundational workshop. Coordinating two different churches, in different towns to attend the same event is challenging.

We decided to have a special time in a Bible devotional for the two pastors and some of their leaders and businessowners. The church's treasurer invited us to a small cabin he has in the mountain. A great place for these pastors to get out of town and breathe some cool fresh air and set some dates!

Learning about Lidia, the businesswoman
We dedicated some time reading about the business woman Lidia found in Acts chapter 16. The devotional used was from our DML book "The Way Forward." Everyone shared their thoughts and it was a great lead into finally setting a date for these churches to have the foundational workshop!

Pastor Carlos said, "I have read this passage many times in my life, but I never thought to look at who Lidia was as a person, as a businesswoman. How she impacted the whole world for the gospel. What you gave us was a new pair of lenses to read the Bible."

He pointed to his friend sitting next to him who works as a freelance software engineer and said, "I have brought my 'Lidio' here today to help our church reach the marketplace!"

The denomination is called, Iglesia sobre la Roca, (Church on the Rock) and we have a foundational workshop scheduled for the last weekend of March! Please pray with us for these two churches, the start of Discipling Marketplace Leaders in Nicaragua!

A few Lidias of our group, with Jari!
